[ARCHIVED] City Council Approves Settlement in Unauthorized Photographs Case

The City Council has approved an appropriation of $110,000 from the City’s free cash account for a final resolution of the complaint brought by plaintiffs Michelle Matheison (mother), Nicholas Plasse (brother), AimeeLee Plasse (sister) involving unauthorized photographs.

This resolution was a result of a recent federal court mediation session. In addition, the City of Chicopee through the Mayor has issued an apology to the plaintiffs.

“On behalf of the City of Chicopee I express sincere apologies for the harm experienced by the Plaintiffs as a result of the distribution and dissemination of the photographic images of Amanda Plasse.

I wish them well and hope that they can move forward with celebrating the life and legacy of Amanda,” said Mayor Kos.
