[ARCHIVED] Mayor Vieau seeking input for ARP Funding Investment Options

PRESS RELEASE

Mayor Vieau seeking input for ARP Funding Investment Options

CHICOPEE, MA – The City has initiated the process of soliciting program and project concepts eligible under the American Recovery Act. The city anticipates receipt of 38 million dollars to be utilized to address the negative impacts of COVID-19, make public improvements, and invest in housing, education, and healthy environments in hard-hit communities.

“While we await the release of the federal regulations with the details of eligible uses of the funds, I commend the City’s ARPA Advisory Committee for creating a process to obtain resident input,” stated Mayor John L. Vieau.

The Community Input Form has been posted on the City’s website at www.chicopeema.gov  and Facebook page and will be distributed through Advisory Committee members, the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce, and other community stakeholders. The Mayor has encouraged all Department Heads and Municipal Boards to evaluate their ARPA-eligible projects.  The Committee has established an initial deadline of August 31st for the return of the form to ARPAFunding@chicopeema.gov or the Office of Community Development, 38 Center St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
