CHICOPEE, MA – All City of Chicopee municipal buildings will re-open to the public on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. City Hall's normal business hours will remain 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Members of the public will be required to wear a face-covering if not fully vaccinated per Chicopee Health Department guidelines and only a limited number of individuals will be permitted in the business areas of municipal offices at a single time. Additionally, the City requests that anyone showing signs of sickness or having symptoms of COVID-19 refrain from entering any municipal building and instead seek other methods to conduct business.
RIVERMILLS SENIOR CENTERThe RiverMills Senior Center (RMSC) located at 5 W. Main Street is currently home to the COVID Testing site and Vaccine Clinic. Therefore, it will not be opening to the public on the expected June 1st date. The Council on Aging staff is preparing for a later opening date to safely accommodate the at-risk/vulnerable population that it serves. The RMSC will continue offering a curbside meal pick-up program and continuing the ZOOM programs and outdoor activities until a safe reopening date is determined.
“When our older adults come back to RiverMills, we want the building to look brand new and welcoming. We want everyone to be happy to be back and feel safe and secure in their surroundings.” – Executive Director Council on Aging Sherry Manyak.
While all city operations have remained operational, municipal buildings have been closed to the public since November 30, 2020, as part of the City’s effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and protect the public and City Staff.
The City encourages members of the public to continue to conduct business via telephone, email, and online when possible. For any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Chicopee Mayors Office at (413) 594-1500.
