CHICOPEE MAYOR VIEAU ANNOUNCES TWO ADDITIONAL SERVICES
AVAILABLE TO CHICOPEE BUSINESSES



CHICOPEE – On Friday, March 27, 2020, Mayor John L. Vieau announced two additional services available to Chicopee businesses.  The first is a listing of services that was provided by the Mass Small Business Development Center – Western Ma office.                    

“We have a strong partnership with MSBDC. They have lent us assistance in our Downtown programs and we are pleased to expand that partnership,” Mayor Vieau stated. 

MSBDC has provided the following updated information on small business assistance:

The MSBDC is also shared that that SBA has extended and modified their SBA Express Gap Bridge program. Details can be found at https://conta.cc/2QMSkT2

In addition, the City’s Office of Planning and Development together with the Mass Development TDI staff, utilized information gathered last week from their Chicopee Center Business Survey as the basis for an application to Mass Development. Funding under this program would be available exclusively to Chicopee Center Businesses.

“We are especially pleased with the efforts of TDI Program Director and our Chamber of Commerce to secure targeted resources to our downtown businesses. These funds will allow our City-wide program to focus our efforts on small businesses in our other neighborhoods.”

The response to the city-wide program has been very strong.  The City has already received applications from businesses that are struggling to remain open in light of the impacts of COVID-19.  Details on the City’s program are available at the application is posted on the Community Development Departments page at https://www.chicopeema.gov/187/Community-Development but is also available electronically by calling the Office of Community Development at 413-594-1590.
