On Friday, Sept. 28th the leadership team of the Holyoke-Chicopee-Springfield Head Start, Mayor Kos, and Senator Lesser gathered for a ribbon cutting at a new childcare center.  The Early Learning center which serves infants, toddlers, and preschoolers opened in the completely renovated former Falls Library at 216 Broadway St., adjacent to Lincoln Grove Park.  Head Start invested more than $700,000 in the property.  The City contributed $25,000 in federal Community Development Block grant funds provided through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The project completes the City's promise to reuse surplus, vacant properties for the betterment of Chicopee residents.
