City Council Supports Funds Appropriation for G1 BEARCAT for Chicopee Police Department

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 


CHICOPEE – 

Calling all Artists; painters, poets, storytellers, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, photographers, and crafters. The Chicopee Cultural Council has been awarded over $49,000 in grant funds from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.  These funds are awarded to local artists through a simple granting process. Apply directly to the Chicopee Cultural Council online.  Information can be found at https://mass-culture.org/lcc 

This past year the Council was also awarded $10,000 from the city of Chicopee bringing total funding upwards to $60,000, almost double from previous years.  This past year the Council funded a muralist, community guitar, percussion, and ukulele classes, period dancers, artist competitions, over a dozen concerts, public art projects, music therapy, creative writing therapy, painting classes, innovative video projects, several theater productions, symphony and science trips for hundreds of school children, and a new Fall festival.

Please consider applying and sharing your talents and art with our community!  Applications will are available online now. The next deadline is October 15, 2019.

Upcoming events include September 18th, We Did It For You, an award-winning play about Women’s Journey Through History. It is a powerful musical that tells the story of how women got their Rights in America, 7:00 pm Chicopee Comprehensive High School.  > September 27th, 5:00 pm-8: 00 pm, Lights On Arts and Culture in downtown Chicopee. October 5th, 10:00am-5:00 pm, Fantastical Fall Festival at Sarah Jane Park in Willimansett.
