[ARCHIVED] DPW - BASKIN DRIVE PARKING LOT ACCESS WILL BE RESTRICTED

PRESS RELEASE

DPW - BASKIN DRIVE PARKING LOT ACCESS WILL BE RESTRICTED

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICOPEE – On Thursday, August 8, 2019, parking for the public will be shifted to the west side of the Department of Public Works (DPW) building on Baskin Drive. The front entrance will be available for the remainder of the week as the public will be asked to walk around to the front of the building (north side) from the west side parking area.

Beginning Monday, August 12, 2019, the front entrance of the building will no longer be accessible. The public entrance will be on the west side of the building, and up the stairs through the Health Department.

HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE

Those requiring handicap accessibility are asked to call in advance to make arrangements with the Department they are attempting to visit to conduct business at their vehicle.

The reconstruction of the Department of Public Works, Baskin Drive parking areas and driveway will be restricted as the contractor excavates and prepares the sub-base for pavement along the front of the building to the gate. The anticipated duration of this arrangement is the week of August 12 – 17, 2019. The construction schedule is subject to change.

The Recycling Center will be closed on Saturday, August 17, 2019, for the base course pavement installation.
