[ARCHIVED] Chicopee Recognizes Poly-Plating, Inc. on their SHARP Award Designation from OSHA

On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, The City of Chicopee recognized Poly-Plating, Inc., a long standing nickel and metal plating company based in Chicopee which has received SHARP (Safety Health Achievement Recognition Program) designation from OSHA which recognizes small employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system.

Poly-Plating, Inc. was founded in 1976 in Chicopee. It is a family-owned business that excels in the plating of precision parts for an array of industries worldwide including military, mold-making, and medical applications. Poly-Plating, Inc. has a long-standing record of environmental stewardship, earning a design patent for a ground breaking diffusion dialysis system that allows for the recycling of large volumes of contaminated acids.

Acceptance into SHARP by OSHA is an achievement of status and will single this company out among its business peers as a model for work site safety and health, and will reap rewards for their business.

“I would like to thank Mayor Kos and the City of Chicopee for recognizing us for our SHARP designation from OSHA,” said Edwin Ondrick Vice President of Poly Plating, Inc. “Our Company has been through many hours of training over the years from OSHA and Massachusetts inspectors and they all have worked with us to receive this designation. Most of the praise should go to our employees who have accepted the extra requirements required for SHARP designation,” Ondrick continued.

“Proud to celebrate this achievement which speaks well of this local company and its commitment to the health and welfare of its employees and our City,” said Mayor Richard J. Kos.
