Mayor Richard Kos has announced the hiring of 12 new Fire Fighter recruits who will begin in house training on October 26, 2015.
“We are pleased to be able to bring on 12 recruits as we continue to improve public safety,” said Kos. “These 12 recruits are highly skilled and I am glad to be able to add them to our department once their training is complete.”
The addition of the new recruits will allow the Aldenville Fire Station which has been closed on and off for decades due to staffing issues to be open most of the time.
“As we continue to address public safety needs, having a regularly operational Fire Station in Aldenvile has been a priority,” said Kos. “Working with the City Council we are addressing these needs.”
“We are thrilled to welcome these recruits to our department,” said Provisional Fire Chief Dean Desmarais. “I’m anxious to add them to our force.”
The recruits will go through a ten week training program to where at completion they will be sworn in as full-fledged Fire Fighters.
