[ARCHIVED] City to Open Cooling Center Sunday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

CHICOPEE – Due to the extreme heat and humidity forecasted for Sunday the City of Chicopee will open a cooling center Sunday at the RiverMills Senior Center located at

5 West Main Street.


The cooling center will be open from 12PM to 6PM and will be staffed by the Department of Emergency Management staff and volunteers. There will be water available to anyone who stops by the cooling center this Sunday.


On Monday the Senior Center and Chicopee Public Library will both be open. These buildings both have air-conditioning. Please see their websites with hours and for more information.

Please note that the Ray Ash pool will be open Sunday from 12PM to 7PM. The rest of the pool schedule can be seen at http://www.chicopeema.gov/790/Pools-and-Spray-Parks
