MAYOR KOS APPOINTS FORMER TREASURER ERNEST LAFLAMME JR. TO COUNCIL ON AGING

CHICOPEE – Mayor Richard Kos today announced the appointment of longtime City Treasurer Ernest N. Laflamme Jr. to the Council on Aging. The City Council unanimously approved the appointment last night at their September 15, 2015 meeting.

"I am honored and privileged to be able to appoint Ernie Laflamme to the Council on Aging," said Mayor Kos. "His leadership is legendary and I know he will serve Chicopee's seniors with the same pride and passion he brought to the Treasurer's office for nearly 50 years."

Laflamme also is a co-chair of the Friends of the Senior Center private fundraising effort in support of the RiverMills Senior Center.

“The Senior Center is very near and dear to my heart and I look forward to working with Mayor Kos and the Council on Aging to improve it in any way we can,” said Laflamme.

"Who better than Ernie Laflamme to help address the needs of our seniors," said Kos. "We are blessed that he again has chosen to serve."

Laflamme is now a member of a 13 member board that is tasked with evaluating, promoting, and encouraging new and existing activities and services which enhance the independence and dignity of elders, thereby impacting their quality of life in the City of Chicopee.
