Mayor Richard Kos was joined by members of the regional Ener-G-Save program on Tuesday, September 19 at City Hall to provide an update on the program’s effort to increase energy conservation.
Mayor Kos is pleased to support the efforts of the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation Energy LLC that recently completed thermal imagery of Chicopee homes. Of those scanned the 25% or nearly 6,000 homes with the highest energy losses will receive reports. The images taken from public streets show no details of the interior of the home but will show homeowners where the home is losing heat. The Foundation expended approximately $300,000 to scan homes throughout the Pioneer Valley.
The City is promoting participation in the initiative. In the next few days, property owners whose homes were randomly selected for scanning will receive a post-card notifying them that they should watch for the full report. The City is encouraging homeowners to call 413-279-9141 or visit www.ener-G-save.com.
