Mayor Richard Kos today announced the promotion of Chicopee Firefighter Nicholas Lacasse to the rank of Fire Lieutenant.

Lacasse joined the Chicopee Fire Department in 2008 as a Firefighter/EMT and emergency medical dispatcher. He previously served in the United States Marine Corps from 2000 to 2008 and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom.

“I congratulate Lieutenant Lacasse on this promotion which is based upon his ranking and experience,” said Mayor Kos.

“I am glad to join Mayor Kos in celebrating this promotion,” said Fire Chief Dean Desmarais. “He will continue to serve the people of Chicopee well.”

The official start date for the promotion is July 16, 2017.
