Mayor Richard Kos has recommended Stephanie Shaw as the new Veterans’ Services Director for City Council approval.
“I would like to thank veterans Louis Brault and Bob Lukasik for their help and input during the selection process,” said Mayor Kos. “Pending the City Council’s decision I look forward to working with Stephanie moving forward.”
Shaw has been a family assistance center specialist for the Massachusetts National Guard Family Program for the last seven years after previously serving as the chairperson for the Family Readiness Group of the 747 Military Police Company. In addition to her military family support experience, Shaw is a veteran of the Massachusetts Army National Guard Military Police, having served overseas in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from Westfield State University in business administration with a concentration in finance.
Shaw’s appointment will be submitted to the City Council for their June 20, 2017 meeting for confirmation. She succeeds former Veterans’ Services Director Kimberly Babin who retired in May.
