[ARCHIVED] Water Department to begin Hydrant Flushing in Willimansett

The City of Chicopee Water Department is going to begin their unidirectional hydrant flushing program in Willimansett.

Starting Sunday April 23rd the Water Department will be flushing hydrants Sunday through Thursday from 8pm to 12am. Flushing will begin on southern Chicopee Street and move north. Crews will be working on Chicopee Street, Meadow Street, Old Field Rd, McKinstry Avenue and all adjoining streets. This is expected to be completed in late June.

*NOTE* Once Narragansett Boulevard is reached Water Department crews will go north to Chicopee Street at Yvonne Street and flush the hydrants northward on all adjacent streets. Upon completion of construction, they will be finishing with the untouched area in the middle.

If any home has discoloration in their water please run cold water until it clears up. If discoloration does not clear up please call Chicopee Water at 413-594-3420 during the hours of 7am to 5pm.
