On April 18, 2017, the City Council approved a request from Mayor Richard Kos for $40,000 to fund the Spring 2017 road crack sealing program. This program will be reimbursed from the City’s available Chapter 90 allotment.

Crack sealing program includes crack preparation, application of crack sealant, and application of boiler slack aggregate to prevent pick up of sealant by traffic.

“Crack sealing program is an annual endeavor to repair and fill medium to small sized cracks in the road as a preventative maintenance effort to extend life expectancy of the road surface,” stated DPW Superintendent Jeffrey Neece. “It prevents water from entering any cracks and allowing for freeze/thaw cycle to damage the roads.”

“This process adds years to our roads and preserves our resources for other needs,” added Mayor Kos.

The full list of streets that will receive the crack sealing treatment is listed below.
