Mayor Richard Kos, on behalf of the City of Chicopee, would like to congratulate the Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce 2017 Shining Star award recipients. This year’s award recipients are honored at the Chamber’s annual Shining Stars gala on Friday evening at the Castle of Knights.

Polish National Credit Union was selected as Business of the Year for their mission to grow lasting relationships to improve peoples’ lives.

Citizen of the Year went to Christine and Werner Maiwald for their contributions to the community through charitable work.

Holyoke Medical Center was tapped as Non-Profit of the Year for their commitment to improving the health and well-being of those in the community

Michael Epaul was named Volunteer of the Year for his work with the Chamber on both committees and in his photography business.

In addition to honoring the award recipients, the Chamber paid tribute to William Wagner of Westfield Bank. Wagner was the former President/CEO of Chicopee Savings Bank for over 30 years.

The Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce works with local businesses to improve the local economy and further advance the well-being of all residents of the community. The Shining Stars exemplify those that are dedicated to improving their community through leadership, growth, vision, and contribution. Those chosen for recognition were selected by the Shining Stars Nominating Committee, which is chaired by Ernest Laflamme, Jr. and is made up of local businesspeople, elected officials and Chamber staff.
