Chicopee High School students Noelle Roy, a junior, Raymond Heredia, a senior, and Hannah Chapdelaine, a senior at Chicopee Comprehensive, over the summer represented our schools at the New England Student Leadership Conference. The three made it through a rigorous selection process and were able to attend the three-day workshop that focused on leadership, sportsmanship, and community service. Noelle and Hannah applied for the prestigious MIAA Student Advisory Committee.

This committee is comprised of students who participated in the New England Student Leadership Conference (NESLC). Student Advisory Committee members attend seasonal meetings with the Educational Athletics Committee and help facilitate student and captains leadership workshops throughout the school year. In addition, these students are asked to participate in various association activities and provide continual feedback from the perspective of students on how to improve the Educational Athletic offerings of the MIAA. In addition, Noelle will addressed athletic directors, principals (from more than thirty schools), and MIAA staff, this week when they met at Chicopee High School.

While Chicopee has had students attend the summer institute, there has only been one other student named to the Advisory Council (Stephanie Kos in 2010).
