Westover Metropolitan Development Corporation is a quasi-public development corporation created in 1974 to convert former military property at Westover Air Force Base to civilian use. The corporation has acquired over 1,300 acres and has developed them into 4 industrial parks and the civilian airport. Over 50 companies have located in the parks, employing over 3,200 people.

Today, the corporation manages day-to-day operations of the Westover Metropolitan Airport, the maintenance of 4 industrial parks, and the continuing development of commercial and industrial real estate at each of the parks.

This Information is to provide the public greater access to any public records which pertain to the property known as 0-Fuller Road.
It has come to the attention of the office of Mayor John L. Vieau, that there are many misconceptions, false information, and conjecture which are being spread in connection with this piece of land. First and foremost, the City of Chicopee does not currently own this property. 

In order to promote transparency between the City and the public, to dispel the misinformation being spread, and better inform the public, we will routinely be updating this page with all available public records surrounding the history of this property. 

The City Clerk’s office has been working diligently with planning department to locate all records in the City’s possession related to this property. It has been a tedious task to perform and involves the manual review of records dating back to the 1960’s.

If further documents are located, they will be uploaded to to this page. Hard copies may be available upon request pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law.

We encourage our citizens to take the time to review these documents and hope it will dispel any misconceptions or false beliefs regarding this property they may have. It is our goal to continue operating our City in a transparent manner, and to provide our citizens with the true facts surrounding this piece of land.
