  4. LGBTQ Veterans Retreat (Individual or couples)

    Dr. Joy Wright and Ray Leonard Jr will provide educational and empowering workshops highlighting relevant LGBTQ Veteran topics. The weekend retreat will also focus on Educating, Empowering, and Healing survivors of sexual assault and harassment. TIPS, STEPS & TOOLS to take back after the retreat will be addressed and education about the psychological factors associated with trauma and harassment will be covered. Topics to be discussed is trauma associated with assault and Harassment and will help with the psychological factors associated with trauma. 1) Helping the with feelings 2) Rebuilding Trust 3) Steps to feel safer 4) Staying connected 5) Resources available 6) Self treatment help 7) Reconnecting their body with their feelings 8) Give tools to help with memories and flashbacks 9) Help the victim reframe what happened to them. We will help with the potential self blaming and guilt associated with sexual trauma.
