Tuesday, 4/18/17, Boo! Goofy Monsters and Haunted Houses
in this awesome and eerie art program, art-ventures construct highly detailed haunted house boxes, complete with spider webs, spooky trees, gravestones, creepy crawly creatures and more! Then paint colorful ceramic monster planters and sculpt clay skeletons.
Wednesday, 4/19/17, Electric Zebras and neon tote Bags
Explore pattern and color while painting electrifying zebras on canvases and create wild neon geometric designs on canvas tote bags using a special resist technique and fabric ink. Then make a rainbow mandala with a variety of vibrant embellishments!
Thursday, 4/20/17, Zany Zoo Animal Art‐ventures
Like a trip to the zoo! Color ceramic bunny banks with special paint markers and design stained glass animal with wiggly eyes! Then create animal clip bookmarks using watercolor paints and draw some surprisingly ferocious fish!
Friday, 4/21/17, Wicked Wild and Wonderful Art
Totally unique art-ventures! Use oil pastels to draw hilarious self-portraits while imagining yourselves as Minions (From the movie Minions). Create colorful clay tiles with terrific texture using some unexpected tools: seashells and pasta. Finally, explore the art of decoupage while designing and decorating large paper mache letters.
Time: 9am to 12pm each day. Grades: K-5
Location: Chicopee Parks and Recreation, 687 Front St.
Fee per day: $33 for residents/$36 for non-residents

Tuesday April 18
The Parks Department is offering a babysitting class for youth ages 11 yrs. & older. The class will be held at Dupont Middle School. 650 Front St. on Tuesday April 18, 2017 from 9AM. – 2PM. The cost is $70/Residents $75/Non-residents.
The class will cover such topics as playtime, behavior management, phone skills, common do & don’ts, bathing, feeding, changing diapers, fire safety, CPR review, and first aid. All participants must pre-register for the class by signing up at the Parks Dept. Class space is limited! For more information please contact the Parks Dept. at 594 - 3481
CPR/AED First Aid & Blood Bourne Pathogens Training Class
Wednesday April 19
The Parks Department is offering a certification class in First Aid/cardiopulmonary resuscitation Blood borne Pathogens and the use of an automated external defibrillator on Wednesday April 19 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Dupont Middle School 650 Front St.
The cost for the full class is $80 for residents and $85 for non-residents. The cost for a certification in CPR/AED & Blood borne pathogens is $50 for residents and $55 for non-residents. The cost for a certification in First Aid Blood borne pathogens is $55 for residents and $60 for non-residents. The cost for a certification in Blood borne pathogens only is $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. These are basic certifications & do not apply for daycare providers, lifeguards and nurses.
There will be a break in between sessions, so participants are invited to bring a snack. Class space is limited and pre-registration is mandatory at the Chicopee Parks and Recreation Department at 687 Front St. or by calling 594-3481.
