Technical Sergeant 5 LaFleur was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in connection with ground operations against a hostile force on 1 April 1945 while serving with Company A, 78th Armored Medical Battalion, 8th Armored Division in Germany. An award of the Combat Medical Badge during the period of December 7, 1941 - September 3, 1945 was considered as a citation for meritorious conduct in ground combat as the basis for the Bronze Star Award. His DD214, Discharge from Active Duty Service was corrected on a DD215 for correction to Report of Separation to reflect his entitlement to the listed awards:
